 Data refers to unorganized raw facts that have not yet been processed and need to be processed. Once these unorganized raw facts are processed, they are termed as information. The data is simpler and random. Once organized, it becomes complex and categorized. This allows the information to be used for fruitful purposes. The distinguishing capability between data and information allows for effective communication of human resource programs. If data is communicated by the human resources about the human resources programs to other departments in an organization, it can create ambiguity and the communication can have negative impacts. The data will be received by the employees but have no formal value or benefit. The data will not convey any particular message to the employees about human resource programs.
